The project

Context

I am currently responsible for the preparation, coordination and management of the Electrical & Instrumentation scope for an industrial flue gas treatment unit in Hamburg.

The international project framework involves ZRE, LAB SA, EST, suppliers and future site teams. My responsibility is to create alignment across technical, contractual, commercial, documentation and execution requirements before and during site mobilisation.

Responsibility

My role

  • Act as the central coordination point between client interfaces, internal departments, suppliers and site operations.
  • Lead technical and operational preparation for E&I studies and erection.
  • Coordinate planning, documentation, budget follow-up, supplier management and team organisation.
  • Maintain alignment across technical, commercial, contractual and execution requirements.
Technical delivery

Scope

  • E&I engineering coordination, cabling and cable trays.
  • Instrumentation, equipment connections, cabinets and junction boxes.
  • Earthing, optical fibre and commissioning support.
  • Technical documentation, material validation and supplier interfaces.
Contribution

What I improved

  • Created structured documentation maps covering technical, commercial, HSE, quality, HR and operational information.
  • Developed HTML dashboards, task trackers, material lists and supplier-link systems.
  • Improved visibility of budget risks, missing prices, quotations and commercial deviations.
  • Prepared work fronts, operational team structures and site-execution processes.
Reflection

What this project taught me

This project is teaching me that ownership starts before visible construction begins. A project manager creates momentum by resolving ambiguity, connecting interfaces and building the operating system the site will depend on.
